This free online metronome plays an accurate click track directly in your browser — no app download, no sign-up. Set any tempo from 20 to 300 BPM, choose a subdivision (quarter notes, 8th notes, 16th notes, or triplets), and press Start to keep perfect time while you practice or record.

How to use the metronome

  1. Type a BPM directly, drag the slider, or tap the "Tap Tempo" button in time with a song to set the tempo automatically.
  2. Pick a subdivision to practice subdividing the beat — useful for drummers, guitarists, and anyone working on internal timing.
  3. Press Start/Stop to control playback. The click continues even if you switch subdivisions mid-session.
